Prisoners of Love
I know that we are many,
Those of us who suffer in silence.
Because we are left behind, alone
Our spirits crying out for help,
Because we feel all hope is gone.
We can no longer sleep at night,
Our pillows drenched with tears,
There's no one to comfort us,
Or to welcome us with open arms.
So we lie here with much despair,
Filled with sorrow and pain,
Wondering what had happened,
And if we will ever be loved again.
We search for answers as to why,
Fending off our darkest fears every night,
The world keeps on turning, time keeps on ticking,
Just waiting for the day when hope arrives.
